AWT Group, a member of PKP CARGO Group, has long been dedicated to promoting the leisure and non-profit activities of their employees. This year it has allocated 300,000 crowns to them as part of a sponsorship program for AWT employees called WE ARE AWT!
The sponsorship program WE ARE AWT!, which the AWT Group uses to support the leisure, community and non-profit activities of their employees, is enjoying its seventh year. AWT Group employees entered a total of 39 projects from various areas of interest into the program, mostly concerning railways, fire protection, sports, and providing care for people with disabilities. AWT Group has decided to allocate assistance in the amount of 300,000 crowns to 34 of the projects.
“We are pleased that every year our employees show great interest in the program WE ARE AWT`! We appreciate the fact that they are volunteering their free time to help others, whether as voluntary firefighters, troop leaders, coaches for children’s sports teams, modelers who introduce railroad themes to the general public, or volunteers caring for the physically handicapped,” says Žaneta Sigmundová, CHRO of AWT.
Part of the corporate culture of the AWT Group seeks to devote part of their funds to charity, not only in the context of the internal and external projects of the company, but also in cooperation with local non-profit organizations. Through their AWT HELP! program, the group organizes an annual collection of clothing for local charities. On 1 June, company representatives brought smiles to the faces of children at Ostrava hospitals and shelters, and every year they collect money from their employees to give to selected charitable projects.
“We believe that helping others is a necessity and it’s precisely for this reason that the projects WE ARE AWT! and AWT HELPS! were organized. Our plan is to continue developing and providing the maximum support for the activities of our employees within the CSR strategy of PKP CARGO Group,” adds Žaneta Sigmundová.
