On 1 September 2015, Viktor Bystrian (37) will assume the role of Commercial Director at international transport and logistics operator AWT Group.
Viktor Bystrian has served in business management positions at AWT since 2008 and has participated in many key projects. His participation has extended, for example, to projects including the development of the group’s intermodal transport, the growth, development and utilization of the Ostrava-Paskov intermodal terminal and the expansion of logistics services provided to the automotive industry. His managerial experience and extensive knowledge of the transport market form an excellent basis for bringing the business development of the AWT Group under one umbrella. At the same time, he will devote his energies to ensuring a close cooperation and the unlocking of commercial synergies with the new AWT Group shareholder, Polish logistics operator PKP Cargo SA.
Viktor Bystrian gained an education in economics at the University of Matej Bel in Slovakia, while he also studied marketing, management and business law in the US and logistics and shipping management in Denmark. In 2002, he moved to a position with the Danish shipping operator Maersk, where he was responsible for managing the railway division and developing the conglomerate’s intermodal transport across Central and Eastern Europe.
“I am convinced that we are entrusting the management of AWT business activities into good hands. Viktor Bystrian is a very experienced manager, who has attained a number of excellent business achievements throughout his career to date. His knowledge and experience of the railway and logistics market will help us pursue and meet the objectives that lie ahead. His international outlook will also be used to realize the potential of interconnecting AWT with PKP Cargo. The combination of the businesses will bring our customers new transport possibilities and the development of services,” said Zbigniew Klepacki, CEO of AWT, commenting on the election of the new Commercial Director.
Viktor Bystrian will replace current Commercial Director Edin Sose, who announced his resignation in June (effective 31 August 2015). The transitional period before the new Commercial Director takes up his post will be devoted to the gradual handover of business activities of AWT Group.
